Hand drawn original pet portraits can be commissioned of your much-loved family pet (or pets!) Whether it be dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, birds..or the lot.. I am happy to tackle all pet varieties. Pet portraits can be such a special keepsake of our beloved animals past and present, and can be a lovely way to commemorate them. They will always hold a special place in your heart, why not also on your wall? I truly love capturing each individual animal’s character and personality. I would love to create something special for you!
On this page I have provided some examples of recent pet portrait commissions to help exemplify what is possible. I largely use high quality coloured pencils on charcoal black paper, however on request portraits may be completed in colour or graphite pencil on white paper. Pet portrait are generally sold unframed.
For your pet portrait, you will need to provide at least two good quality photographs (preferably more) of your pet(s). To enable me to most accurately depict your individual pet please try to pick photos that are clear, in focus and not too far away as they need to show good face detail. No flash is preferable to embrace natural lighting and shadows. If you have limited photos of a pet, I can do my best to make it work, BUT the quality of the photo may impact on the quality of the drawing. So, help me help you! A clearer photo means more detail and a better likeness can be achieved.
Price varies pending on size, number of subjects and complexity of the artwork. Have a think about how big you would like your artwork, whether you want the face alone, head and shoulders included, or full bodies drawn. To discuss further please drop me a line & I can provide an estimation based on what you’re wishing to create.
Please be aware that there may be a waiting list for commissions – it is best to book your spot well in advance. Late notice or too tight a time frame for artwork completion may force me to decline the commission – I don’t want to do this, so please give me plenty of time! A minimum of 1 month before a deadline is required, but as indicated, a waiting list may be in place. If in doubt, please contact me to inquire as to whether I can fit you in for a specific deadline.
A 50% deposit is required before work will commence, and once started progress pictures can be sent along the way to keep you updated and involved in your drawing’s development. Once completed, the balance is then payable to Art By Lisa, and your unique pet portrait is carefully packed and delivered to you!
Artworks may require additional fees for postage. Standard freight fees apply for interstate and international delivery ( if delivered by courier). This may vary pending on artwork size and whether it is being sent interstate or overseas.
If you would like to order a pet portrait, or even if I’ve piqued your interest and wish to discuss further– please fill out the contact form and I will be in touch with you as soon as possible.
Please note and respect that I retain reproduction rights to all of my original artworks.
